August 2019 NOTICE: The Iowa DOT is now accepting applications for the annual Federal Recreational Trails program funding cycle. Applications shall be either received via email by 5:00 p.m. to or postmarked by Oct. 1, 2019. An email submission must still be followed by receipt of a signed color original of the completed application via U.S. mail. A total of $1.3 million is available for award this cycle. Please note, the application form has been revised for this year’s cycle. If you are working from a previously prepared application, be sure to update to the new format and questions before submitting.

Trail funding applications and instructions

The following fillable forms require Adobe Reader. Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers, by default, have their own pdf readers enabled, even if you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer. If using those browsers, you will need to download the pdf file to your computer and view the form in Adobe Reader or you can use Internet Explorer. Here are instructions for saving your file and opening it in Adobe Reader:

  1. Right click on the form link and select "Save link as...".
  2. Choose a location on your computer and click "Save."
  3. Open Adobe Reader.
  4. Go to File>Open and select the file you just saved. It will open the form in Adobe Reader.
