ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Iowa DOT, a national leader in accelerated bridge construction (ABC), is accomplishing another “first.” The U.S. 6 bridge over Keg Creek in Pottawattamie County is being completely prefabricated off-site and will be replaced beginning Oct. 17. While the roadway will be closed for two weeks for the bridge replacement, traditional construction methods would have required the partial or complete closure of the road for several months, resulting in substantial traffic disruption.
