Since 1990, the Living Roadway Trust Fund (LRTF) has awarded more than $17 million for approximately 1,500 projects across the state of Iowa. In addition, LRTF funds have also been used to leverage more than $6.8 million for community and county projects across the state by providing opportunities for matching funds.

In its partnership with Trees Forever, the LRTF has helped fund 420 Iowa community landscaping projects, in 251 communities and counties, totaling $4 million and generating local matches of $2.8 million.

Through the LRTF’s funding of the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management Program Office, located in the Tallgrass Prairie Center at the University of Northern Iowa, the LRTF has helped procure approximately $4 million in federal funds for seeding projects along 16,000 acres of county roadside rights of way.
