No. Construction on the Iowa 210/Huxley interchange will not begin until the Elkhart/Polk City/NE 126th Avenue interchange has been fully opened to traffic.

The trail will be closed for the summer 2024 while a culvert is constructed around the trail. The trail will be open once that is complete; however, intermittent closures are expected as the existing trail bridge is removed above the culvert and a new roadway is constructed in its place.

We anticipate that the interchange to be fully open in mid-June, weather permitting. We are currently planning to close the ramps on the south side of the interchange beginning April 15. These ramps were opened last fall with temporary shoulders, so we need to close them now to construct the permanent shoulders. The work is expected to take approximately one month.
