Appointments

With the current COVID-19 health concerns, we encourage all customers to check out our online services.

If you need to see us face-to-face, please use this system to schedule an appointment. When you come see us, you’ll be asked to practice social distancing and asked a few basic health screening questions.

DRIVER'S LICENSE OR ID CARDS
Driver’s licenses or ID cards

Schedule an appointment for:

  • Knowledge exams - Commercial and non-commercial
  • Drive tests - Commercial and non-commercial
  • License and ID services

If you must come into an Iowa DOT-operated service center for driver’s license or identification services, you will need to make an appointment. Walk-in customers will not be served.

MOTOR CARRIER SERVICES
Motor Carrier Services

Appointments are being accepted in our Ankeny location only for:

  • International Registration Plan (IRP)
  • International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA)
  • Intrastate Travel Authority
  • Prorate titles for commercial vehicles
  • Oversize/Overweight permits

Be sure to select "Vehicle and Motor Carrier services" from the location drop down menu when scheduling an appointment.

VEHICLE SERVICES
Vehicle Services

NOTE: Title and registration applications and registration renewals for individuals and businesses are handled directly by county treasurer offices. Many locations are closed or are not conducting business as usual. It is suggested that you contact the location you plan to visit before making the trip.

Drop box

Customers can drop off applications or payments in a locked drop box if you do not require a face-to-face discussion about the service you need.

Appointments are being accepted in our Ankeny location only for:

Product issuance
  • Official titles (government agencies only), one title per application
  • Persons-with-disability placards and stickers

Order, pay and consult only – NO PRODUCT ISSUED
  • Bonded title applications
  • Dealer license applications
  • Personalized/Specialty plate (can also order online)
  • Vehicle record requests

Do NOT make an appointment for any Driver or Identification Services with this button.
