Project Overview

Brush Creek Bridge

The existing Brush Creek bridge, built in 1965, is a steel two-girder bridge. The deck was overlaid in 1987 and epoxy-injected in 2014, but it is nearing the end of its useful life. The bridge also has deficiencies in both the superstructure and substructure.

To address this we will make the following improvements:

  • Demolish existing bridge and construct a new 454’ x 44’ pretensioned prestressed concrete beam bridge.
  • Install revetments.
  • Construct paved shoulders and install guardrail at all four corners of bridge.
  • Construct rock flumes at all four corners of bridge.

Bridge Over Lake Red Rock

The current bridge over Lake Red Rock was constructed in 1965, the structure is a two-girder 42-span continuous steel welded plate girder bridge.  The deck was overlaid in 1988 and some cracks were epoxy sealed in 2012.  Currently there is some deterioration of the bridge deck.

To address this we will make the following improvements:

  • Bridge deck overlay.
  • Repair west curb, reconstruct east curb.
  • Concrete repair at seven bridge joints.
  • Clean and paint girder ends and bearings.
  • Replace existing drainage systems.
