Bridge Engineer Program
The Bridge Engineer (BE) program associated with the Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University provides bridge engineering support and research expertise. This position is part of a contractual agreement between ISU and the Iowa Department of Transportation and includes support of the Bridges and Structures Bureau in the development and conduct of research, support of special projects and support in training. BE provides expertise to help solve practical problems or to explore solutions to unique problems. This unique relationship allows the BE to essentially function as an extension of the Iowa DOT.
Additional information on the research accomplished through this program can be found at the Bridge Engineering Center website.
