HIAWATHA, Iowa – March 22, 2026 – If you use the Boyson Road interchange at Interstate 380, the diverging diamond interchange traffic pattern is about to open.

On Sunday night, March 22, weather permitting, Boyson Road at I-380 will be closed overnight between North 12th Avenue to Center Point Road, including all ramps. The closure will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to allow construction crews to install pavement markings for the DDI, install final signing, and activate traffic signals for the interchange.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
