Ames, Iowa – Feb. 21, 2025 – Tell us what you think about the proposed U.S. 20 westbound bridge replacement, 0.6 miles east of the NW Arterial, over Middle Fork Catfish Creek and Railroad in Dubuque County. (Event # 6446)

Changes include:

  • Construction of a new 471’ x 40’ bridge
  • Installing new guardrail
  • Constructing new bridge approaches with wider paved shoulders.  

During the bridge replacement, traffic will be down to one lane for the westbound direction and two lanes for the eastbound direction. Access to businesses and homes will be provided by temporarily managing vehicle traffic at entrances and local roads. Bridge construction is expected to start spring 2026 and end late fall 2026.
