Davenport, Iowa – Oct. 20, 2023 – If you drive on U.S. 61 near Mount Joy in Scott County you need to be aware of a concrete pavement reconstruction project that may impact your trip.

Construction crews will reopen the southbound exit ramp and northbound entrance ramp on U.S. 61 at Mount Joy on Tuesday, Oct. 31, weather permitting.

Crews will then close the southbound entrance ramp from Scott County Road F-55/210th Street east to the southbound U.S. 61 entrance ramp (exit 124) so work can be done. The ramp will remain closed until Monday, Nov. 13, weather permitting.

While the southbound entrance ramp to U.S. 61 is closed, you will follow a marked detour route and travel north on U.S. 61 to Blackhawk Trail Road/Scott County Road F-51, and then south on U.S. 61 (see map).

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
