Sioux City, Iowa – Oct. 28, 2023 - If you’re going to be traveling on U.S. 75 near Hinton in the next few weeks, the Iowa Department of Transportation will be temporarily shifting traffic starting Monday, Oct. 30 at 9:30 a.m., so please watch carefully for the temporary traffic pattern.

The timing of this traffic shift is dependent on the weather, so it is subject to change.

We’ll be moving northbound traffic northbound on U.S. 75 between Hinton and Merrill in Plymouth County to the newly constructed northbound lanes. When driving in the area, you’ll be using one lane in each direction, but you will not be able to turn left in the area for approximately two weeks.

Because of this construction work, you should expect your trip to take a bit longer than normal.

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
