Ames, Iowa – Dec. 6, 2023 – Join the Iowa Department of Transportation for a virtual public information meeting to discuss proposed improvements to the westbound Interstate 80 rest area located 1.2 miles west of Polk County Road S-27, near Mitchellville.
The proposed improvements to the rest area include partial removal and replacement of parking to increase the number of stalls. Additional improvements include removal, relocation, and replacement of entrance ramps to the rest area. Traffic on I-80 will be maintained throughout the project. Construction is expected to begin in 2025.
