New Hampton, Iowa β Feb. 9, 2024 β If you travel on Front Street in Lansing you need to be aware of an upcoming road closure that may slow down your trip.
Beginning on Friday morning, Feb. 16, weather permitting, crews will close Front Street between Henry and Hale streets to start work on Pier 1 for the Mississippi River Bridge at Lansing replacement project.
Front Street will be closed through the fall of 2024. The next anticipated closure of Front Street will be from the fall of 2025 through the summer of 2027.
For more information about the Mississippi River Bridge at Lansing, visit the Iowa DOT website page or Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LansingBridge.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
