Davenport, Iowa – Feb. 27, 2024 – If you drive on Interstate 80 in Coralville you need to be aware of a construction project for the new I-80 and 1st Avenue interchange that may slow down your trip.
Iowa DOT construction crews need to close I-80 at the 1st Avenue interchange (exit 242) so they can place beams over I-80 for the 1st Avenue bridge.
- Westbound I-80 will be closed from 11 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 until 5 a.m. Thursday, March 7, weather permitting. You will follow a marked detour route using the 1st Avenue interchange (exit 242) ramps (see map).
- Eastbound I-80 will be closed from 11 p.m. Thursday, March 7 until 5 a.m. Friday, March 8, weather permitting. You will follow a marked detour route using the 1st Avenue interchange (exit 242) ramps (see map).
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
