The RISE program was established to promote economic development in Iowa through construction or improvement of roads and streets. Iowa cities and counties are eligible for funding in the form of a grant, loan, or combination thereof. Projects must involve construction or improvement of a public roadway. There are two RISE project types:1) Immediate Opportunity, and 2) Local Development. More information is available online about RISE

Ankeny: Up to $767,640 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in construction of approximately 1,195 feet of SE Creekview Drive located on the southeast side of town. This project is necessary to provide access to seven lots totaling more than 25 acres for light industrial purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by May 2026.

Des Moines: Up to $3,513,350 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a modified Local Development grant to assist in additional roadway improvements to provide public access to a new Des Moines International Airport terminal. This project is anticipated to be completed by July 2026.

Mount Pleasant: Up to $243,594 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in construction of approximately 1,033 feet of Eugene Way located on the west side of town. This project is necessary to provide access to three lots totaling more than 13 acres for light industrial purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by November 2024.

Sioux City: Up to $1,250,957 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in construction of approximately 410 feet of new roadway and turn lanes on Business Highway 75 North located on the northeast side of town. This project is necessary to support tourism by providing access to the proposed Siouxland Splash LLC waterslide park development. This project is anticipated to be completed by December 2024.
