Jefferson, Iowa β April 8, 2024 β If you travel on U.S. 30 on the west end of Nevada you need to be aware of a traffic pattern change that could affect your trip.
On Wednesday, April 10 at 7 a.m., weather permitting, crews will start to permanently remove the at-grade intersection of old Story County Road S-14/West 3rd Street and U.S. 30. Construction crews will start on the south side of the project by closing old Story County Road S-14/West 3rd Street south of U.S. 30 to traffic so they can remove the pavement and turn lanes on U.S. 30.
Beginning on Monday morning, April 15, crews will close the north roadway and begin removing the old roadway and turning lanes on that side of the project.
Beginning Wednesday morning, April 10, there will no longer be access to U.S. 30 from old Story County Road S-14/West 3rd Street. You will use the new bridge and access U.S. 30 from the South 6th Street intersection.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
