Creston, Iowa – May 7, 2024 – If you drive on westbound Interstate 80 between Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) and Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime construction work that may impact your trip according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 13, until 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, weather permitting, crews will close westbound I-80 so sign trusses can be installed.

When westbound I-80 is closed and work is taking place, you will follow a marked detour route using Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121), University Avenue, and Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) to reach westbound I-80 (see map).

Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
