Jefferson, Iowa – June 12, 2024 – If you travel on U.S. 30 between Ames and Nevada you need to be aware of a traffic pattern change that could affect your trip.
This Friday, June 14 at 7 a.m., weather permitting, crews will reopen 580th Street north of U.S. 30. Beginning on Monday morning, June 17, crews will close 590th Street north of U.S. 30 so work can begin to construct a connection to the new frontage road. While 590th Street north of U.S. 30 is closed you will follow a marked detour route using 590th Street, East Lincoln Highway, and 600th Street (see map).
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
