Davenport, Iowa β July 2, 2024 β If you drive on U.S. 61 in De Witt you need to be aware of repair work on the U.S. 61 overpass that may impact your trip.
Beginning on Wednesday, July 3, weather permitting, crews will open the northbound U.S. 61/U.S. 30 loop ramps. Crews will then close the loop ramps for southbound U.S. 61. This includes the southbound U.S. 61 ramp to 11th Street East (see map) and the entrance ramp from 11th Street West to southbound U.S. 61 (see map).
During these ramp closures you will follow a marked detour route using U.S. 30 and 6th Avenue. The southbound U.S. 61 ramps will remain closed until mid-August 2024.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
