Ames, Iowa – August 12, 2024 – Tell us what you think about the proposed reconstruction on Interstate 80, including the interchange at Iowa 21, in Poweshiek County (Event # 5748).

As part of this project a full diamond interchange is being proposed to replace the current design which includes reconstruction of the eastbound exit ramp and westbound entrance ramp. The eastbound lanes of I-80 will also be reconstructed on new alignment on both sides of the interchange.  Construction will take place starting in July 2025.

Traffic on Iowa 21 will be detoured at certain periods during the four-year construction timeframe. The detour route will consist of using Iowa 85, U.S. 63, and U.S. 6.
