Sioux City, Iowa – Oct. 2, 2024 – If you travel on the U.S. 20/U.S. 75 bypass in Sioux City you need to be aware of upcoming overnight maintenance work that may slow down your trip.

The Iowa Department of Transportation needs to close the interchange ramps on the U.S. 20/U.S. 75 bypass from the Nebraska state line to Iowa 12/Gordon Drive, so crews can complete hot-mix asphalt crack filling. Overnight ramp closures will take place from 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 to 6 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, and from 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 to 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, weather permitting.

The following interchanges will have ramp closures: Lakeport (exit 1), Sunnybrook (exit 2), Morningside (exit 3), and U.S. 20/Gordon Drive (exit 4). The ramp closures will last approximately 30 minutes per ramp. Only one ramp will be closed at a time.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
