Ames, Iowa – Oct. 23, 2024 – Tell us what you think about the proposed bridge replacement on US 69 over the Iowa River in Belmond. (Event # 6206).

Proposed Improvements Include:

  • Removing and replacing the existing bridge.
  • Reconstruct approach pavement.
  • Update guardrail to current standards.

During the reconstruction of the US 69 bridge, traffic will be phased with traffic signals to maintain one alternating travel lane in each direction. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2027 and end in the fall of 2027.
