
Ames, Iowa – March 20, 2025 – Tell us what you think about a proposed project on U.S. 69/SE 14th St. between the Des Moines River and East Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Des Moines. (Event # 6549)
Improvements include:
- Widen and resurface pavement.
- Add new connector street from E. MLK Jr. Pkwy to U.S. 69.
- Reconstruct medians to limit left turns.
- Reconfigure the Maury St. intersection to an offset T-configuration by closing Maury St. west of U.S. 69.
During the construction project, traffic on U.S. 69 will be maintained. Some side road connections will be detoured during construction. Construction is anticipated to start in the spring of 2027.
