Grimes, Iowa – March 27, 2025 – If you drive on Interstate 35/80 near the U.S. 6/Hickman Road interchange (exit 125) in Clive you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime lane closures that may slow down your trip.

The full closure of I-35/I-80 and U.S. 6/Hickman Road interchange scheduled for Thursday, March 27, has been rescheduled and will now begin at 10 p.m. on Monday, March 31, and will end at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Grimes Construction office.

While I-35/I-80 is closed you will follow a marked detour route using I-235, Valley West Drive, Northwest 100th Street, and Northwest Urbandale Drive (see map).

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
