CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – April 28, 2025 – Repairs to the CN railroad crossing on Iowa 13 between Central City and Coggon in Linn County will require fully closing the roadway to traffic beginning on Monday, May 5, until Thursday, May 15, weather permitting according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 6 Office.
When the roadway and crossing is closed there will be a marked detour route using Iowa 13, U.S. 151, Iowa 38, and U.S. 20 (see map).
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
