HIAWATHA, Iowa – May 16, 2025 – If you travel on Boyson Road across Interstate 380 in Hiawatha you need to be aware of an upcoming road and bridge closure that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa DOT’s Manchester construction office.
Beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, until Wednesday, May 21, weather permitting, crews will close Boyson Road between 12th Avenue to Center Point Road so crews can connect the roadway to the newly constructed bridge and install traffic signal lights for the southbound ramps.
Both southbound I-380 ramps will remain closed, but access to the northbound I-380 ramps will remain open during this project.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
