NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa – June 3, 2025 – The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) will be closing the Penn Street to northbound I-380 ramp (Exit 4) beginning on Tuesday, June 10, weather permitting, to allow for ramp reconstruction work. The closure is anticipated to last up to three months. Traffic will be detoured southbound and directed to turn northbound at Forevergreen Road (Exit 2) (view the detour route).
This project is part of the Penn Street interchange reconstruction project. Additional project details can be found on the City of North Liberty’s website and at https://iowadot.gov/modes-travel/roads-highways/major-construction-projects/i-380-corridor-reconstruction.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
