NEW HAMPTON, Iowa – June 5, 2025 – If you drive on northbound U.S. 218 through Waterloo you need to be aware of upcoming lane closures that may slow down your trip.

Beginning on Thursday night, June 12, until late October, weather permitting, crews will be working on a bridge deck repair project on the northbound U.S. 218 bridge over U.S. 63, 3.6 miles north of U.S. 20 in Waterloo. The project will be completed in two stages. During the first stage, you will be directed to travel in the outside lane of U.S. 218 for through traffic and have access to the off-ramp at Exit 181B.

Message signs will be placed along U.S. 218 before you reach the work zone to notify you of the upcoming project.
