MANCHESTER, Iowa – July 11, 2025 – If your travels in Hiawatha take you across Interstate 380 on Boyson Road between North 12th Avenue and North Center Point Road, you need to be aware of an upcoming project that may slow down your trip.

The Iowa DOT Manchester construction office announces that the Boyson Road bridge over I-380 will be closing on Monday, July 14, for 20 working days. All four I-380 ramps will also be closed during this project.

During the closure, construction crews will be connecting the ends of this segment to the North Center Point Road intersection and to the roundabout at North 12th Avenue. The northbound ramp intersection will also be completed. At the end of the closure, the northbound exit ramp will reopen, but the northbound entrance ramp will remain closed for a couple weeks longer.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
