CRESTON, Iowa – July 24, 2025 – If you travel on southbound Jordan Creek Parkway to reach eastbound Interstate 80 at Exit 121 in West Des Moines you need to be aware of an upcoming nighttime ramp closure that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office.

Starting at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, until 5 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, weather permitting, crews will close the eastbound I-80 on-ramp at southbound Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) for concrete pavement work.

If you are traveling south on Jordan Creek Parkway, a digital message sign will direct you to continue south on Jordan Creek Parkway, and east on Ashworth Road until you reach 50th Street. You will travel north on 50th Street until you reach University Avenue. You will then travel west on University Avenue until you reach the I-35/I-80 interchange (Exit 124).

Detour map for closure of eastbound I-80 on-ramp at southbound Jordan Creek Parkway.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
