DAVENPORT, Iowa – Aug. 13, 2025 – A project to make improvements to the traffic barrier rail along Interstate 80 in Davenport will require ramp closures starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday night, Aug. 17, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Iowa DOT Davenport construction office.
Crews will need to close the southbound U.S. 61 to eastbound Interstate 80 ramp (exit 123A), and the eastbound I-80 to Business U.S. 61/southbound Brady Street ramp (exit 295A), so work can be done to the traffic barrier rail.
During this closure, you will follow a marked detour route using the adjacent interchange ramps:
- Exit 295B for Brady Street
- Exit 123B for Eastbound I-80
The ramps are expected to reopen in mid-September.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
