AMES, Iowa – Aug. 29, 2025 – Tell us what you think about a proposed culvert replacement project on U.S. 6 near Oakland Acres (Jasper County).
A culvert on U.S. 6, located 0.5 miles west of the west junction with County Road T38, is in poor condition and is damaging the road above it. To address this, the culvert will be replaced, and some roadway work will be done as part of the project.
Construction is expected to start spring of 2026 and end fall of 2026.
During construction, U.S. 6 will be closed to traffic and there will be a detour. The proposed detour would follow Iowa 224, I-80, and Iowa 146. Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
