WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Sept. 5, 2025 – Beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.14, until 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, and from 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, weather permitting, eastbound Interstate 80 will be closed for nighttime construction work between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and the Southwest Mixmaster, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 4 Office.
When eastbound I-80 is closed you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118), University Avenue, Northwest 100th Street, and Douglas Avenue (exit 126).
At Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121), the Loop F ramp will be opening, and Ramp B will be closing on Sunday, Sept. 14. Ramp B will be closed for approximately 30 days. When Ramp B is closed you will follow a marked detour route using 60th Street (exit 122), University Avenue, and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121).
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
