AMES, Iowa – Sept. 24, 2025 – Join the Iowa Department of Transportation for an Open House to see the project plans for U.S. 61 (Wapello Bypass).
Construction is expected to start spring of 2027 and end late 2029. During the construction of the Wapello Bypass, traffic will be maintained on U.S. 61.
Attend the Open House to See the Project Plans
When: Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025, anytime between 5 and 6:30 p.m.
Location: Briggs Civic Center, 317 N. Water St. in Wapello
Description: You will be provided with information about the project, and you can talk through your questions with our staff. There will be no formal presentation. The meeting space is accessible for people with disabilities. If you require more support at the meeting, please notify the contact listed below by Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025.
