AMES, Iowa – Oct. 23, 2025 – Tell us what you think about a proposed overlay project on U.S. 30 between Jefferson and Grand Junction. The Buttrick Creek bridge on U.S. 30, 2.8 miles west of Iowa 144, will also be replaced at the same time.

Changes include:

  • Replacing the Buttrick Creek bridge with a new 205’ x 44’ pretension prestressed concrete beam (PPCB) bridge.
  • Concrete overlay of the U.S. 30 pavement.

During the bridge reconstruction and overlay projects on U.S. 30, traffic will be routed around the project area using a detour route. The detour route for US 30 will utilize Iowa 4, County Road E26, and Iowa 144. Construction is expected to start spring of 2027 and end fall of 2027.
