LANSING, Iowa – Nov. 5, 2025 – If you travel on Iowa 26 in Lansing, you need to be aware of an upcoming road closure that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 2 Office.

Construction crews will be disassembling and removing a 300-ton crane they recently built at the west abutment for construction of the new bridge across the Mississippi River. Iowa 26 will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, through Wednesday, Nov. 12, weather permitting.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
