AMES, Iowa – Nov. 19, 2025 – Tell us what you think about the proposed culvert replacement on U.S. 59 approximately 0.2 miles south of 250th Street in Osceola County.

Improvements include replacing the existing single reinforced concrete box with a twin reinforced concrete box.

Construction will take place starting in the late spring of 2027 and be completed by the end of 2027.

U.S. 59 will be closed during construction and an offsite detour will be utilized. The detour will follow 250th Street east at the junction of U.S. 59 and 250th Street to 1st Avenue/Sorrel Avenue in the town of Melvin, then South on 1st Avenue/Sorrel Avenue to U.S. 18 then west to the U.S. 59 junction.
