GRIMES, Iowa – Dec. 2, 2025 – If you drive on the Iowa 415 roundabout at the intersection of Iowa 415/NW Beaver Drive/NW 106th Avenue you need to be aware of some upcoming closures that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (Iowa DOT) Grimes Construction office.
At 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, weather permitting, the Iowa DOT’s contractor will be opening 110th Court at Iowa 415 and switching to the next phase of construction for the Iowa 415 roundabout project.
Crews will permanently close the north access from 121st Street to Iowa 141. The temporary pavement will be removed. The NW 106th Avenue detour at NW 101st Way will be closed and remain closed for Stage Five of the project which is anticipated to last ten days. Beaver Avenue will also close for Stage Five.
During Stage Five traffic on NW 106th Avenue will be routed down to 110th Court for the new detour route. Iowa 415 traffic will be switched over to the temporary signal setup so work can be done on the median. Portable message boards will assist you in navigating around the closures in the area.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
