WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Dec. 17, 2025 – The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Creston construction office wants to let motorists know about nighttime closures of eastbound Interstate 80 between Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118) and Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121) from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, on Monday, Dec. 22, and Tuesday, Dec. 23.

Crews need to close eastbound I-80 so temporary barrier rail can be removed and a new configuration can be constructed. During this closure you will follow a marked detour route using Grand Prairie Parkway (exit 118), University Avenue, Jordan Creek Parkway (exit 121), and eastbound I-80.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
