DURANGO, Iowa – March 11, 2026 – If you drive on Iowa 3 west of Sageville, you need to be aware of an upcoming road closure that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Manchester construction office.

Crews will close Iowa 3 to traffic beginning on Monday, March 23, weather permitting, to allow for the reconstruction of Iowa 3 between Boy Scout Road and Sageville.

When the roadway is closed you will follow a marked detour route that takes you west on U.S. 20 to Dyersville, then north on U.S. 52 to reach Iowa 3. Access will be maintained for local residents during this project. Work is planned to continue all season with an anticipated completion date of Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
