LANSING, Iowa – March 17, 2026 – If you travel on Iowa 9/Iowa 26 in Lansing, you need to be aware of an upcoming nighttime road closure that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s District 2 Office.

Our contractor needs to take away the crane used to remove the old Mississippi River bridge at Lansing. Crews will close Iowa 9/Iowa 26 at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, until 6 a.m. Thursday, March 19, weather permitting. The backup date, if needed, is Thursday, March 19, from 10 p.m. until Friday, March 20 at 6 a.m. Front Street and Black Hawk Alley will also be closed at the same time as Iowa 9/Iowa 26.
