AMES, Iowa – April 21, 2026 – Tell us what you think about the proposed bridge replacement on Iowa 281 over Elk Run Creek in Back Hawk County.
Proposed Improvements Include:
- Removal and replacement of the existing bridge.
- Reconstruct approach pavement.
- Replace guardrail.
Through traffic will be detoured using County Roads V43, D16, and V49 during construction. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2027 and end in the fall of 2027.
