AMES, Iowa – May 6, 2026 – Tell us what you think about proposed improvements to Iowa 7 from west of the Iowa 7 & 70th Avenue intersection to east of the Iowa 7 & 80th Avenue intersection near Storm Lake.
Changes include reconstruction of the following:
- Iowa 7 & 70th Avenue/Villa Road intersection
- Iowa 7 from west of 70th Avenue to east of 80th Avenue
- Iowa 7 & 80th Avenue intersection
During the reconstruction of the Iowa 7, traffic will be detoured using 50th Avenue, 610th Street, 85th Avenue, and 90th Avenue. Portions of 70th Avenue/Villa Road, 80th Avenue, and St. Andrews Drive will have closures at varying times.
Construction is expected to start fall of 2027 and be completed by the end of 2028.
