The RISE program was established to promote economic development in Iowa through construction or improvement of roads and streets. Iowa cities and counties are eligible for funding in the form of a grant, loan, or combination thereof. Projects must involve construction or improvement of a public roadway. There are two RISE project types: 1) Immediate Opportunity, and 2) Local Development. Perry: Up to $695,516 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a modified Local Development grant to assist in the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Soumas Avenue and Iowa 141. This project is necessary to provide improved access for the Perry Industrial Park, an Iowa Economic Development Authority certified site area of more than 156 acres. This project is anticipated to be completed by December 2028.
West Burlington: Up to $1,064,254 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in construction of approximately 1,800 feet of new roadway located on the northwest side of town. This project is necessary to provide improved access to four lots totaling more than 27 acres for industrial purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by June 2027.
New Hampton: Up to $860,542 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in construction of approximately 2,119 feet of Rusty Kennedy Road located on the south side of town. This project is necessary to provide access to 12 lots totaling more than 31 acres for industrial purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by June 2028.
Bondurant: Up to $2,902,857 from the city share of the RISE Fund and $1,920,348 from the county share of the RISE Fund was approved for an Iowa Certified Site through the RISE Local Development program to assist in construction of approximately 8,000 feet of 32nd Street SE located on the southeast side of town. This project is necessary to provide access to Timmins Industrial Park, an Iowa Economic Development Authority certified site of more than 188 acres for industrial purposes. The certification for this site expires October 31, 2026.
