MORRISON, Iowa – May 14, 2026 – If you travel on Iowa 175 one mile west of Morrison, you need to be aware of an upcoming construction project that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Jefferson construction office.
Crews will close Iowa 175 from Tuesday, May 26 until Wednesday, Sept. 30, weather permitting, so they can replace the bridge over Munn’s Creek with a twin-box culvert.
When Iowa 175 is closed you will follow a marked detour route using Iowa 14, and Grundy County roads D-35 and T-53.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
