AMES, Iowa – June 23, 2026 – Tell us what you think about the traffic plan for our planned bridge deck replacement on IA 62 over Brush Creek and IA 62 HMA resurfacing project from north of Andrew to Bellevue in Jackson County.

Bridge Improvements include:

  • Bridge deck replacement
  • New bridge barrier rails and guardrails
  • Replace bridge approach pavement

Bridge Traffic Plan:

  • Bridge deck replacement will require traffic to be detoured during construction. The proposed detour would follow Jackson County Highway Y61 (250th Ave) and Jackson County Highway D61(Bellevue Cascade Road).

Highway Improvements include:

  • Resurfacing starting near 154th Street north of Andrew to just west of Bellevue Cascade Road near Bellevue.
  • Resurfacing improvements will include centerline and shoulder rumble strips and adding 4-foot-wide paved shoulders

Highway Traffic Plan:

  • Resurfacing on IA 62, from Andrew to Bellevue, will involve maintaining through traffic with flaggers and pilot car. Access to properties will be maintained.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2027 and end in the fall of 2027.
