NEW HAMPTON, Iowa — July 1, 2026 — The Iowa Department of Transportation's (DOT) New Hampton construction office will begin a hot-mix asphalt resurfacing project on Iowa 24 in New Hampton starting Monday, July 13.
Crews will work on Iowa 24 from 400 feet east of Water Avenue to the east city limits of New Hampton. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and pilot cars. The project is expected to be complete by early October, weather permitting.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
