The RISE program was established to promote economic development in Iowa through construction or improvement of roads and streets. Iowa cities and counties are eligible for funding in the form of a grant, loan, or combination thereof. Projects must involve construction or improvement of a public roadway. There are two RISE project types: 1) Immediate Opportunity, and 2) Local Development. Butler County: Up to $360,000 from the county share of the RISE Fund was approved for an Immediate Opportunity grant to assist in the paving of approximately 2,400 feet of Industrial Park Road located northwest of Shell Rock. This project is necessary to provide access to the proposed relocated site of Feldmeier Equipment Inc, a producer of ASME Code-stamped pressure vessels, to support the retention of 36 full-time jobs and $22,543,868 in associated capital investment. This project is anticipated to be completed by April 2028.
Burlington: Up to $853,017 from the city share of the RISE Fund was approved for a Local Development grant to assist in construction of a roundabout at the intersection of West Burlington Avenue and Division Street located on the west side of town. This project is necessary to provide improved access to more than 7 acres for industrial purposes. This project is anticipated to be completed by November 2027.
