POLK CITY, Iowa – July 20, 2026 – Drivers on Iowa 415 just east of the Iowa 141 interchange in Polk County should plan for an upcoming closure that may slow their trip, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's Jefferson construction office.

Crews will close Iowa 415 between NW 110th Street and NW Beaver Drive from 8 p.m. Monday, July 27, until 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, weather permitting. The closure will let crews prepare for a new turn lane on Iowa 415 and pave the south side of the roadway.

During the closure, drivers should follow the marked detour on NW 110th Street and NW 106th Street to reach Iowa 415.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
