DELTA, Iowa – Aug. 24, 2026 – Iowa 92 between Iowa 21 and Keokuk County Road V-33 will be closed for construction starting Monday, Aug. 31, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Fairfield construction office. Drivers who use this stretch of road should plan for delays.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, until mid-October, weather permitting, Iowa 92 will be closed so crews can replace two culvert crossings between Iowa 21 and Keokuk County Road V-33.
While the roadway is closed, drivers should follow marked the detour route shown below using Iowa 21, East 6th Street in Delta, and Keokuk County Road V-33.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
